Coastal communities worldwide depend on healthy marine ecosystems to survive. Yet pollution, climate disruption, and ecosystem degradation threaten the very waters they live from. Traditional monitoring is too slow, too expensive, and too centralized to respond in time.
CORAL is a modular floating sentinel deployed at strategic coastal points. Each unit operates independently while remaining connected to a wider network of nodes — sharing data, compensating for energy gaps, and building a collective picture of marine health across entire coastlines.
CORAL continuously samples and analyzes surrounding water through its integrated filtration column — a multi-layer biological system combining activated charcoal, specialized algae, and natural sediments. When chemical imbalances are detected, the system activates automatically, reintroducing missing elements and neutralizing harmful compounds before they cascade through the ecosystem.
Solar panels power each unit during the day. The anchoring platform harvests residual wave energy as backup. Aerial drones extend CORAL's reach — collecting surface data and alerting the coastal community when intervention is needed.
